11Uganda Safari- Wildlife & Primate Tracking Tour

11 Days (10 Nights) safari features both game viewing and primate tracking, Trip includes visits to Kibale forest, Queen Elizabeth national park, Lake Mburo park and Bwindi forest ; home of the mountain gorillas.

DAY 1- Arrival
 Today you will be picked up from the airport by our driver who will take you to your hotel in Kampala were you will be spending the night and also having dinner


DAY 2- Transfer to Kibale forest national park.
Today you will be picked up from your location or hotel in Kampala after your breakfast to Kibale National Park. This journey covers a distance of 310.5km about 4 hours from Kampala city. On arrival, you will relax, may have a short community walk in the evening. You will have dinner at the lodge were you will be spending the night.


DAY 3- Chimp tracking and Bigodi wetlands
You will be driven to the headquarters for briefing just after you have had breakfast for a little briefing about the gorilla trekking. During this activity, you may see birds like western green tinker bird, olive long tailed cuckoo, the African grey parrot, red chested fluff tail, red winged francolin, green breasted Pitta, white napped pigeon, African Piita, grey winged robin, joyful green bull, grey throated fly catcher, Abyssinian ground thrush, white bellied crested fly catcher, black capped Apalises and many more.  You will also spot primates like the blue monkey, red tailed monkey, white checked Mangabey, olive baboon, chimpanzees and black, white and red colobus. Other mammals like blue duiker, genet, bush pig, bush buck and the African civet can also e seen. Spotted in this park though rare are the water bucks, buffalos, warthogs, hippos and the giant forest hog are also present plus forest elephants.
You will be driven to the lodge for lunch and later to the Bigodi wetlands for birding. It hosts about 138 bird species among which are the great blue Turaco. After here, you will be driven back to the lodge for dinner and sleep over.


DAY 4- Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Today, you will travel to Queen Elizabeth park after breakfast, this journey is about 1 hour and 30 minutes , a distance of 114km. on arrival, you will check in, have lunch and later in the evening, go to visiting the Katwe salt mines and the local communities. On return, you will have dinner at the lodge were you will be spending the night.


DAY 5- Game drive and boat cruise on the Kazinga channel
After breakfast, you will go for an early game drive in the park were you may see mammals like the tree climbing lions, leopard, spotted hyena, elephants, hippo, topi among others. This is one of the best game drives you can ever have. You will then return to the lodge and have a mouth watering lunch. When lunch is done, you will have a boat ride along the Kazinga channel where you might see birds like the African fish eagle, knob billed ducks, and reptiles alike the crocodile and water mammals like the hippos. This ride will leave you with an amazing experience on water. When back on the shores, you will ride back to the lodge for dinner and night.


DAY 6- Transfer to Bwindi national park
After breakfast today, you will be driven to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.  This journey takes about 4 hours via the Ntungamo - Katunguru road and Kabala - Mbarara road, a distance of 249km. on arrival, you will check in to a lodge were you will be having your dinner and also spending the night.


DAY 7- Gorilla tracking
You will wake up to ready breakfast at the lodge then get ready to hit the forest for the amazing gorilla trekking activity.  This activity can take 2 to 7 hours depending on your luck that day with the gorillas. After they are tracked down, you will be allowed a maximum of 1 hour to interface with these awesome primates. From the lodge, you will be taken to the Bwindi impenetrable forest national park offices handling gorilla tracking for orientation and meeting with the guides. You will be divided into small groups not exceeding 8 trackers to enter into the jungle for a day. During this adventurous activity, you will be given about an hour to closely enjoy these primates, take pictures and observe them as they feed, play and see how they live their lives in the jungle. While trekking, you may also come across some mammals and other primates like the red tailed monkeys and baboons plus birds. After this activity, you will head back to the head quarters where you will be awarded gorilla trekking certificates upon your successful adventure as you enjoy your packed lunch.  After this meal, you will head back to the lodge for dinner and over night.


DAY 8- Transfer to Lake Mburo national park
Today after breakfast, you will travel to Lake Mburo national park a distance of about 271.5km from Bwindi national park, approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes apart. On arrival, you will check in to the lodge you will be having dinner and spending the night.


DAY 9- Game drive and boat cruise
On this day, you will wake up to ready breakfast at the lodge after which the 1st activity will start. You will be driven to the park for an early game drive. While in the park, you are likely to see various mammals like impalas, zebras, oribis, buffaloes, topis and many more plus the numerous birds in the air, on ground and trees like the bare faced go away birds. After the drive in the park, you will be dropped back to the lodge to have lunch and prepare for the next activity.
After the delicious meal, you will be taken for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo where you might see water birds like white winged warbler, brown faced lap wing plus animals grazing at the river bank like the elephants, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles and many more.  When this is done, you will be driven back to the lodge for dinner and spending the night.


DAY 10- Back to Kampala
On this day, you will also have breakfast then later check out and get ready to come back to Kampala. On the return journey, you might stop at the equator in Kayabwe for photos before proceeding to Kampala.
DAY 11- Departure
You will be picked up from your hotel in Kampala by our driver to Entebbe airport just in time to catch your flight.
