1 Day Sipi Falls Tour

Sipi falls are a series of 3 waterfalls located in Eastern Uganda in the district of Kapchorwa, northeast Sironko and Mbale lying on the edge of Mount Elgon national park near the Kenyan border. These falls area is the starting point for many hikes up Mount Elgon  with the most popular route starting in Budadiri through the Sasa trail to the summit and the descends down the Sipi trail back to the Sipi falls. Hikes around the falls offer stunning views of the Karamoja plains, Lake Kyoga and the slopes of Mount Elgon.

Itinerary
You will be picked by our driver from your location at 7:00am and immediately embark on a 5 hour drive to Kapchorwa where the falls are found passing through districts like Jinja, Iganga and Mbale. On arrival, you will make a stop at the Sipi river lodge for relaxation and briefing from the local guide.
You will begin the hike near the waterfalls overlooking Sipi river lodge. This trek that lasts about 4 hours, a distance of 7-8kms offers a perfect opportunity to experience different vegetation zones and plant species. The hiking will start from the falls near the lodge, descending into the valley where you will find the remaining two waterfalls with stunning views of the mountains and Karamoja plains passing through local communities across Arabica coffee farms. While at these last two falls, you can relax enjoying the amazing scenery, take pictures of the twin falls at the foothills of Mount Elgon.
After this awesome Sipi falls adventure, you will return to the lodge for lunch after which you will return to Kampala.
